Trivia[]
- Marks as the longest film of the careers of the entire cast.
- According to Zack Snyder, this version contains no shots filmed by Joss Whedon from the theatrical version of Justice League. And in order to keep full creative control and ensure that the fans receive the most benefit from the director's cut, Zack Snyder declined to be paid for finishing his "Justice League".
- Dedicated in memory of Zack Snyder's daughter Autumn Snyder (1996 - 2017). Her death is the reason Snyder stepped down from the production of Justice League (2017).
- Although Jesse Eisenberg appears in the main credits, he has less than 2 minutes of performance in the whole 4-hour movie.
- The cast features 6 Oscar winners (Ben Affleck, Jeremy Irons, J.K. Simmons, Russell Crowe, Jared Leto, and Kevin Costner), and 4 Oscar nominees (Amy Adams, Willem Dafoe, Jesse Eisenberg, and Diane Lane).
- The angel statue seen at the back of the graveyard, in which Cyborg digs up a grave is the same statue seen during the Comedian's funeral scene in Watchmen (2009), a film previously directed by Zack Snyder.
- Despite directorial credits, Zack Snyder has never actually seen the theatrical cut of Justice League (2017). Reportedly, his wife Deborah Snyder and his good friend and executive producer Christopher Nolan advised him to never see it, as it would "break his heart."
- Joker uttering the lines, "We live in a society..." drew a huge response from online audiences as this phrase became a meme on the internet that gained popularity during the release of the film Joker (2019). Unfortunately, this line was cut from the final film.
- Ciarán Hinds's Steppenwolf is entirely redesigned for this film as Zack Snyder intended to. Even his voice is more intimidating and distorted than his voice in Justice League (2017). According to Weta Digital's Simeon Duncombe and Anders Langlands, as the film's Animation Supervisor and Visual Effects Supervisor, they were essentially going back to Snyder's original vision with the Snyder Cut, revisiting all elements that were planned beforehand; thus, restoring the original vision rather than having to create something new. Steppenwolf's Snyder Cut look was even clearly hinted in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016).
- Soon after the theatrical release of Justice League (2017), in which many fans and critics alike found the film an inaccurate representation of Zack Snyder's vision, the hashtag #ReleaseTheSnyderCut began to grow in popularity through social media in hopes of promoting a possible director's cut. Over the years since its inception, the "Release The Snyder Cut" movement has helped gain traction all the way to Warner Bros. executives and even through raising money for numerous charities associated with suicide prevention and awareness. In May 2020, after a virtual Man of Steel (2013) watch party, Snyder officially announced the project with Henry Cavill.
