William Hartnell in Hell Drivers

William Hartnell and Patrick McGoohan's deaths in Hell Drivers
William Hartnell (1908 - 1975)
aka Billy Hartnell
Film Deaths[edit | edit source]
- Hell Drivers (1957) [Cartley]: Falls to his death, along with Patrick McGoohan, when their truck falls over a quarry (due to faulty brakes) while trying to kill Stanley Baker.
TV Deaths[edit | edit source]
- Doctor Who: The Massacre of St Bartholomew's Eve (1966) [The Doctor/Abbot of Amboise]: Playing a dual role, the 'Abbot' is assassinated (though I don't know by whom); the 'Doctor' survives, obviously. (I've never seen this serial, since it was wiped during the BBC's periodic house-cleaning and has yet to be recovered; as a result, the entire serial is considered to be lost).
- Doctor Who: The Tenth Planet (1966) [The Doctor]: Collapses due to old age and exhaustion; his body then "regenerates" and transforms into Patrick Troughton. (Note: this is only the "death" of William's incarnation of the character, and not the of the character itself, though I'm listing it just in case). Part of this scene was later recreated in the new series with David Bradley playing the Doctor.
