- The Birth of a Nation (The Clansman; In the Cluthes of the Ku Klux Klan) (1915) [Gus]: Hanged by a group of Klansmen. (Walter, a causcasian actor, was made up in blackface for this role)
- Intolerance: Love's Struggle Throughout the Ages (1916) [The Musketeer of the Slums]: Shot in the chest by Mariam Cooper from outside the window while Walter is menacing Mae Marsh in her apartment; he dies after staggering out into the hallway.
- The Mother and the Law (1919) [The Musketeer of the Slums]: See Intolerance. (this film was made by re-editing the 20th-century storyline into a separate film).
- The Maltese Falcon (1931) [Miles Archer]: Shot to death by Bebe Daniels (see also Jerome Cowan in the 1941 version).
