- Jesse James (1939) [Jesse James]: Shot from behind by John Carradine, as Tyrone fixes a painting.
- Blood and Sand (1941) [Juan Gallardo]: Gored to death by a bull in the arena. (Thanks to DLS)
- The Eddy Duchin Story (1956) [Eddy Duchin]: Dies off-screen of leukaemia. The movie presents his death symbolically by showing him playing a piano duet with his son Rex Thompson followed by some camera movement which eventually reveals Rex by himself at the piano.
- Witness for the Prosecution (1957) [Leonard Stephen Vole]: Stabbed in the chest by Marlene Dietrich in the courtroom, after she discovers he's leaving her for Ruta Lee. (Thanks to Betty)
