  • Jesse James (1939) [Jesse James]: Shot from behind by John Carradine, as Tyrone fixes a painting.
  • Blood and Sand (1941) [Juan Gallardo]: Gored to death by a bull in the arena. (Thanks to DLS).
  • The Eddy Duchin Story (1956) [Eddy Duchin]: Dies (off-screen) of leukaemia. The movie presents his death symbolically by showing him playing a piano duet with his son (Rex Thompson) followed by some camera movement which eventually reveals Rex by himself at the piano.
  • Witness for the Prosecution (1957) [Leonard Stephen Vole]: Stabbed in the chest by Marlene Dietrich in the courtroom, after she discovers he's leaving her for Ruta Lee. (Thanks to Betty)
