- The Tigers (Ng foo jeung: Guet jip) (1991) [Dandruff / Tau-Pi] Shot in the back of the head by Ken Tong while he is driving a car.
- Ashes of Time (Dung che sai duk) (1994) [The Blind Swordsman] Killed in a swordfight with a group of bandits.
- Infernal Affairs (Mou Gaan Dou) (2002) [Chen Wing Yan] Shot in the forehead by Ka Tung Lam while he was holding Andy Lau at gunpoint.
- Hero (Ying Xiong) (2002) [Broken Sword] Allows himself to be stabbed to death by Maggie Cheung, letting her win the duel and saving her life.
- Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021) [Xu Wenwu/The Mandarin]: Soul devoured by The Dweller, after distracting it from killing Simu Liu and Meng'er Zhang, he spends his final moments smiling proudly at them.
- Where the Wind Blows (Feng zai qi shi) (2022) [Nam Kong] Dies off-screen heart attack. His death on-screen text appear near the end of the films.
