- The Great Heart (1938) [Father Damien]: Dies (off-screen) of leprosy; his spirit is shown afterwards standing over his tombstone in a symbolic scene.
- Bowery at Midnight (1942) [Frankie Mills]: Shot to death by two policeman after coming out of Bela Lugosi's escape route.
- The Racket Man (1944) [Matt Benson]: Shot in the back by Douglas Fowley.
- The Brute Man (1946) [Clifford Scott]: Strangled (off-screen) by Rondo Hatton; his body is shown afterwards lying on the floor when Jan Wiley discovers him.
