- Charley Chan on Broadway (1937) [Marc Lawrence]: Stabbed to death (off-screen) in a hotel room. His body is discovered by Warner Oland and Harold Huber.
- Only Angels Have Wings (1939) [Kid Dabb]: Badly injured in a small plane crash, he later dies from his injuries with Cary Grant at his side.
- Gone with the Wind (1939) [Gerald O'Hara]: Dies after falling off a horse while chasing Victor Jory and Isabel Jewell when they leave his plantation. His body is shown on the ground afterwards.
- The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1939) [Clopin]: Dies after being wounded during the siege of Notre Dame.
- Bataan (1943) [Cpl. Jake Feingold]: Shot repeatedly by Japanese soldiers; he later dies while talking to Robert Taylor.
- Immortal Sergeant (1943) [Sgt. Kelly]: Commits Suicide (on top of being wounded) when Henry Fonda refuses to leave him. We only see Fonda going to the rest of the Squad and we hear the shot. His body is seen after when Fonda comes to him.
- Flesh and the Fantasy (Six Destinies) (1943) [Septimus Podgers]: Strangled by Edward G. Robinson
- Destry (1954) [Rags Barnaby]: Shot in the back when Lyle Bettger's gang bust George Wallace out of the town jail. (Thanks to Brian)
