- Dwight H. Little's first choice of playing Jin Kazama was actor Ryan Merriman. But the role went to Jon Foo since Merriman was American and not a fitting part to play a Japanese character.
- Katsuhiro Harada, the creator of the game series, barely criticize the film for being underperformed throughout. Although it became a critical and commercial failure, it spawned into a prequel focusing on Kazuya in 2014.
