- Pie Pie Blackbird (1932) [Fayard Nicholas]: Burned to death (along with Harold Nicholas, Eubie Blake and the band) when they literally get too hot; their skeletons continue performing after the fire. (Played for comic effect) (This short film is included as a bonus feature in US DVD of the 1929 Hallelujah.)
- Night at the Golden Eagle (2001) [Mr. Maynard]: Dies of a heart attack at his hotel room; his body is shown again at the end of movie being carried out on the stretcher.
