Stephen Elliott in Columbo: A Deadly State of Mind

Stephen Elliott (1918 - 2005)

Film Deaths[]

  • Three Hours To Kill (1954) [Sheriff Ben East]: Shot by Dana Andrews when he goes for his gun after they have been fighting in the street and Dana has exposed him as the murderer of Richard Webb. (Thanks to Brian)
  • Cutter's Way (Cutter and Bone) (1981) [J.J. Cord]: Shot to death when Jeff Bridges pulls the trigger as the mortally-wounded John Heard is pointing a gun at Stephen, since the dying John is too weak to shoot Stephen himself.

TV Deaths[]

  • Columbo: A Deadly State of Mind (1975) [Carl Donner]: Hit on the head with a fireplace poker by George Hamilton, while Stephen is hitting his wife (Lesley Ann Warren).
  • Greatest Heroes of the Bible: Jacob's Challenge (1979) [Isaac]: Dies of disease (off-screen) at some point during the episode, we only see him on his deathbed 'clinging' onto life.
  • Hart to Hart: Which Way, Freeway? (1980) [Steven Baldwin]: A cripple, he is shot in his wheelchair by Rebecca Hollen. He reappears as the actor impersonating the dead man. (Thanks to Brian)
  • Murder, She Wrote: Armed Response (1985) [Dr. Sam Garver]: Shot to death by Sam Groom. His body is shown afterwards when a security guard discovers him in a fish-pool after Sam put the body into the pool to tamper with the time of death, and the murder is shown in a flashback when Martin Kove explains what happened.
