- Into the Woods (2014) [Baker's Father]: Dies (off-screen) under unspecified circumstances, several years before the story begins; he appears as a ghost to his son (James Corden) in the woods, warning James not to repeat his mistakes.
- National Theatre Live: King Lear (2014) [Lear]: Dies of old age/natural causes, compounded by grief over the death of his daughter (Olivia Vinall).
- The Death of Stalin (2017) [Lavrientiy Beria]: Executed by being shot in the head by one of Jason Isaacs's men during a coup; Jason then sets his body on fire and burns it to ash.
- The Outfit (2022) [Roy Boyle]: Executed by being forced to get down onto his knees shot in the head (off-screen) by Nikki Amuka-Bird. We learn of this when Nikki explains what happened to Mark Rylance.
