- All Is True (2018) [Hamnet Shakespeare]: Drowned (off-screen) in a pond, several years before the story begins. It's ambiguous whether it was an accident or whether he committed suicide after his sister (Freya Durkan) threatened to reveal to their father (Kenneth Branagh) that she wrote the poems that Sam had taken credit for. He appears as a figment of Kenneth's imagination in the "present-day" scenes, and his body is shown afterwards face down in the water in a flashback when Kathryn Wilder tells Kenneth what happened. (This is a historically inaccurate, speculative explanation; Hamnet Shakespeare's cause of death was not recorded, but it's generally believed that he died of an illness, possibly bubonic plague.)
