Robbie Coltrane in Henry V

Robbie Coltrane (1950 - 2022)

Film Deaths[]

  • Krull (Dragons of Krull; The Dungeons of Krull; Dungeons and Dragons) (1983) [Rhun]: Shot in the back by the slayer monsters, he dies while the remaining party members look on in horror (with his body being destroyed when the fortress breaks apart).
  • Eat the Rich (1987) [Jeremy]: Shot in the chest with an arrow by Lanah Pellay's band of revolutionaries during their raid on an expensive restaurant. His body is later hacked up, ground to bits, and served up as a meal, disguised as a roast pig. (Played for comedic effect.)
  • Henry V (1989) [Sir John Falstaff]: Dies (off-screen) of natural causes, compounded by his heartbreak after being abandoned/forgotten by Kenneth Branagh; his body is shown lying in bed afterwards.
  • The Pope Must Die (1991) [Priest/Pope David “Dave” Albinizi]: Presumably dies after an unknown sniper sent by the Vatican is sent to assassinate him, while he is singing obliviously in a concert, the movie ends just as the mil dot has a clear target on Coltrane’s head.
  • The World Is Not Enough (1999) [Valentin Zukovsky]: Shot twice in the chest (through a commander hat) by Sophie Marceau (as Robbie orders her to give it to him at gunpoint); despite his wounds, he manages to fire his walking cane-gun into the torture chair (breaking a locked leg brace); freeing Pierce Brosnan before dying.
  • Van Helsing (2004) [Mr. Hyde]: Falls from a rooftop in a fight with Hugh Jackman; he transforms back into Jekyll (Stephen Fisher) as he falls. (Robbie did not actually physically appear in this movie, but only provided the voice for the CGI Hyde.)

Television Deaths[]

  • Murderland (2009) [Douglas Hain]: Murdered by Nicholas Gleaves, who deliberately drives into him in the show's finale.
