Film Deaths[]

  • Edgar Wallace Mystery Theatre: Clue Of The Twisted Candle (1960) [Viner]: Shot out of camera by David Wright; we see Richard enter his house and then hear the shot.
  • The Edgar Wallace Mystery Theatre: The Share Out (1962) [John Crewe]: Shot in the stomach at close range by Alexander Knox.
  • The Edgar Wallace Mystery Theatre: Accidental Death (1963) [Johnnie Paxton]: Electrocuted with John Carson in his swimming pool after Jacqueline Ellis has accidentally knocked them and he grabs John too late to prevent him touching the metal handrail which Richard had rendered 'live' thinking John would be alone and use the pool. The current goes into John then through Richard.
  • The Satanic Rites of Dracula (Count Dracula and His Vampire Bride; Dracula is Dead and Well Living in London) (1973) [Colonel Matthews] Shot in the forehead (off-screen) by Marc Zuber with a sniper rifle. His corpse is later discovered by William Franklyn, before William is also shot and killed by Marc.

Television Deaths[]

  • William Tell: The Killer (1959) [Hans, the Merchant]: Stabbed in the chest by the masked Derek Godfrey.
  • Ripping Yarns: Roger of the Raj (1979) [Lord Bartelsham]: Shot to death (off-screen) in a shoot-out with mutinous soldiers outside Richard's mansion. We learn of his death when Michael Palin’s narration confirms that Michael and Jan Francis were the only survivors. (Played for comic effect).
