- Grindhouse (Planet of Terror) (2007) [Tony Block]: Accidentally shoots himself in the head (off-camera) after his mother (Marley Shelton) gives him a gun to protect himself; we hear the shot after she walks away from the car, and his body (actually a special-effects dummy) is shown afterwards when she runs back and sees him. (to spare Rebel any potential emotional trauma, director Robert Rodriguez did not inform him that his character would be killed, keeping the secret by using a dummy for the body and even shooting alternate footage in which he survives).
