Film Deaths[]
- Underworld (Transmutations) (1985) [Lazarus]: Dies after inhaling poison gas set off by Art Malik
- Howling V: The Rebirth (1989) [Count Istvan]: Shot off-screen, by Elizabeth Shé.
- Alien 3 (1992) [Kevin Dodd]: Killed in a struggle with the alien xenemorph. Although Phil is pulled away from the xenemorph by Charles S. Dutton and Sigourney Weaver, he quickly succumbs to his injuries and dies in Charles' arms. Phil's body is then dragged away by the xenemorph and consumed off-screen.
- Blue Ice (1992) [Westy]: Killed by Michael Caine or one of Ian Holm’s cohorts
- Crimetime (1996) [Simon]: Killed in a struggle with Pete Postlethwaite.
- Face (1997) [Julian]: Killed in a shootout with police (although he's still alive the last time we see him, it’s implied that he’ll soon die).
- Cassandra's Dream (2007) [Martin Burns]: Shot to death (off camera) with zipper guns by Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor.
- Dead Man Running (2009) [Johnny Sands]: Shot to death with one of his own shotguns by Brenda Blethyn, his body is later seen throughout the film.
- Brighton Rock (2010) [Spicer]: Murdered by Sam Riley who suffocates him by forcing a stick of rock down his throat.
- Age of Kill (2015) [Bill Weybridge]: Shot repeatedly in the chest by Martin Kemp, when Philip reaches for a gun.
Television Deaths[]
- Murder in Mind: Favours (2003) [Chaz Hadley]: Stabbed to death by Gary Kemp at the end of a struggle in a car.
- Doctor Who: The Fires of Pompeii (2008) [Lucius Petrus Dextrus]: Burns to death, when David Tennant and Catherine Tate cause the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, while Phil is in the center of the volcano.
- The Fixer: Episode 2.2 (2009) [Roger Bowland]: Dies of a terminal illness while talking to Peter Mulan.
- Sherlock: A Study in Pink (2010) [Jeff Hope]: Shot through the back by Martin Freeman, who fired from the building behind Phil, shooting through the two windows and saving Benedict Cumberbatch from being forced by Phil to commit suicide. While Phil is bleeding out from the gunshot wound, Benedict presses his foot on the wound and forced Phil to confess that Andrew Scott was behind the plan, before Phil dies from blood loss.
- Being Human: The Last Broadcast (2013) [Captain Hatch]: Dies after the devil leaves his body.
- Mad Dogs: Needles (2016) [Lawrence]: Shot in the forehead by Ben Chaplin.
- Inside No. 9: Thinking Out Loud (2020) [Bill Ryland]: Stabbed to death by Steve Pemberton (playing one of Maxine Peake's alternate personalities), Maxine is then shown holding the knife showing it was really her who did it.
- Ragdoll (2021) [Mayor Turnbull]: Burns to death when his trap cigarette, which Sam Troughton had sabotaged, explodes and sets his entire body on fire, while Henry Lloyd-Hughes looks on in horror, before Henry desperately tries and fails to put out the flames and save Phil.
- Slow Horses: Dead Lions: Last Stop (2022) [Richard 'Dickie' Bough]: Poisoned by Marek Vašut, who used a hidden needle in his ring to inject Phil. As he realises he had been poisoned, Phil leaves a hidden message on his phone for Gary Oldman and dies of a heart attack on the bus.
