Film Deaths[]

  • The Night of the Following Day (1968) [Girl]: Fatally beaten (off-camera) by Richard Boone while tied up; she dies in Marlon Brando's arms shortly after he discovers her and unties her. At the end of the movie, it's revealed that the whole story has been a dream, but the events start repeating themselves, suggesting that it's going to come true. NOTE: The ending could always be interpreted as an artistic choice to show the audience where the story began. (Nudity alert: Topless) (Thanks to Neceros and Johan)
  • David Copperfield (1969) [Dora Spenlow]: Dies of a prolonged illness. (I can't recall the specific cause). (I haven't seen this version, but I'm fairly familar with the story).
  • The Witching (Necromacy; A Life for a Life; Rosemary's Disciples; The Toy Factory) (1972/1983) [Lori Brandon]: Suffocated when Harvey Jason shuts her in a coffin and the other members of Orson Welles' cult bury her alive; the movie ends with a close-up of her screaming inside the coffin.
  • The Legend of Hell House (1973) [Florence Tanner]: Crushed to death when Michael Gough's ghost causes a large crucifix to fall on her; she manages to write a message on the crucifix with her own blood before dying. (Thanks to PortsGuy)
