Oskar Werner (1922 - 1984)
Film Deaths[]
- Decision Before Dawn (1951) [Corporal Karl Maurer a.k.a. Happy]: Executed (off-screen), presumably by either hanging or firing squad, after he allows himself to be captured by German soldiers in order to give Richard Basehart a chance to escape. We last see him being taken away, but Richard's narration indicates that Oskar's execution is inevitable.
- Ship of Fools (1965) [Dr. Wilhelm Schumann]: Dies (off-screen) of a heart attack.
- The Spy Who Came in From the Cold (1965) [Fiedler]: Presumably executed (off-screen) for his failed attempt to implicate Peter van Eyck as a traitor. He's last seen being taken away and put under arrest, but several statements in the film make his fate clear.
- The Shoes of the Fisherman (1968) [Father David Telemond]: Dies of a cerebral hemorrhage while praying with Anthony Quinn in a chapel.
