- Smilin' Through (1932) [Kathleen/Moonyean]: Playing a dual role as aunt and niece, the aunt "Moonyean" is shot to death by Fredric March at her wedding. (The niece "Kathleen" survives the movie.) (See also Jeanette MacDonald in the 1941 version.)
- Romeo and Juliet (1936) [Juliet]: Commits suicide by stabbing herself in the chest after she wakes up from her feigned "death" in the family crypt, and discovers that Leslie Howard has poisoned himself.
- Marie Antoinette (1938) [Marie Antoinette]: Executed (off-screen) by the guillotine. We see her being led up to the guillotine, then see Tyrone Power's reaction as he hears the crowd cheering in the distance. (Thanks to Mac)
