Film Deaths[]

  • Derby Day (1952) [Jim Molloy]: Comes home early and finds his wife (Googie Withers) in bed with her lover, John McCallum who puts his foot in Nigel's chest and pushes him forcefully down the stairs where he breaks his neck.
  • The Great Escape (1963) [Flight Lieutenant Dennis Cavendish "The Surveyor"]: Machine-gunned, along with the other captured escaped P.O.W.s, by the Germans as an execution. (we only see him in the truck before going out, but his name is mentioned by James Donald as among those executed.)
  • The Lost Continent (1968) [Webster]: Eaten by a shark.
  • Young Sherlock Holmes (1985) [Rupert Waxflatter]: Shot with a hallucinogenic dart by Susan Fleetwood, causing him to see demons which land on his chest. He then stabs himself with a sword to try and kill them, but ends up killing himself.

Television Deaths[]

  • The Edgar Wallace Mystery Theatre: To Have And To Hold (1963) [George Matthews]: Grappling with Ray Barrett he is unintentionally shot in the back by his wife Katharine Blake, when she tries to shoot Ray.
  • The Saint: The Invisible Millionaire (1964) [Jim Chase]: Shot in the back (off-screen) by Mark Eden. His body is shown when Roger Moore runs upstairs alerted by Nigel's scream and later when Moore returns to expose Mark Eden as the murderer.
  • Doctor Who: Time-Flight (1982) [Professor Hayter]: Sacrifices himself to enable the Xeraphin to communicate with Peter Davison, afterwards being absorbed by the Xeraphin lifeforce.
