Film Deaths[]
- War Requiem (1989) [Wilfred Owen]: Killed in combat (off-screen) during WWI; his body is shown lying on a table in the military hospital while Tilda Swinton mourns. (This movie is told without dialogue or conventional narrative.)
- Hamlet (1990) [Laertes]: Wounded with his own poison-tipped sword during a swordfight with Mel Gibson; he dies shortly after exchanging forgiveness with Mel.
- Squanto: A Warrior's Tale (1994) [Thomas Dermer]: Killed (off-screen) along with his men by Native Americans led by Eric Schweig. We see their ship burning with Adam Beach's horrified reaction to what Eric and his tribe have done.
- The Haunted Mansion (2003) [Master Gracey]: Commits suicide by hanging himself, centuries before the story begins; he appears as a ghost throughout the movie and finally moves onto the afterlife with Marsha Thomason on discovering she was poisoned by Terence Stamp and then rescuing Eddie Murphy from being dragged down to Hell by Stamp.
- The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010) [King Caspian IX]: Plays a ghost of a king murdered by his brother Sergio Castellitto before the story begins. He is seen as a fog wave, whilst talking to his son Ben Barnes.
- Ophelia (2018) [King Hamlet]: Poisoned by his brother Clive Owen.
Television Deaths[]
- Into Thin Air: Death on Everest (1997 TV) [Rob Hall]: Freezes to death/dies of exposure on the mountain.
- Merlin: The Sword in the Stone - Part 2 (2011) [Agravaine de Bois]: Neck broken after Colin Morgan uses magic to slam him into some rocks.
- Grantchester S4 E5 (2019) [Thomas Davenport]: Shoots himself after walking into the woods with his shotgun, after his fraudulent actions have been discovered and been told that he had accidentally and unknowingly killed Robert Portal.
