Excel Saga: The Interesting Giant Tower (2002; anime) [Dr. Kapabu]: On top of having a twisted ankle as a result of a jump gone wrong, he dies when his head hits his own desk, in front of Watanabe (Jay Hickman), Iwata (Mark Laskowski) and Sumiyoshi. Brought back by the Great Will of the Macocosm (Kelly Manison). (Played for comic effect).
Gantz: They Aren't Human (2005; anime) [Goro Suzuki]: His head explodes when he ventures outside the game perimeter.
Super Dimensional Fortress Macross: Love Flows By (2006; anime) [Golg Boddole Zer]: Killed inside his own flagship by the SDF-1 Macross when it fires its entire load of missiles in all directions.
