Film Deaths[]
- Mrs. Soffel (1984) [Ed Biddle]: Shot to death by police while Diane Keaton tries to help him escape.
- The Bounty (1984) [Fletcher Christian]: While Gibson is alive in the final scene of the film, the epilogue to the movie states that when a British whaling ship arrived on Pitcairn island nearly twenty years later, only Philip Martin Brown was still alive. The rest, including Mel, were presumably murdered in disputes with the Polynesians who accompanied them.
- Lethal Weapon 2 (1989) [Martin Riggs]: Dies of multiple gunshot wounds inflicted by Joss Ackland in the alternate ending. Although Mel is still shot in the final cut of the film, the wounds are non-fatal, as Danny Glover is able to get Mel medical help.
- Hamlet (1990) [Hamlet]: Slashed on the arm with a poison-tipped sword during a sword fight with Nathaniel Parker; he lives long enough to avenge himself by killing Alan Bates, then dies in Stephen Dillane's arms.
- Braveheart (1995) [William Wallace]: Executed by beheading, after being tortured and disemboweled; we only see the axe coming down. It is later said that he was dismembermented and each piece of his body was scattered to show what the English would do to the rest of the Scottish if they were to engage in another war.
- Edge of Darkness (2010) [Thomas Craven]: Shot by Danny Huston on top of suffering from radiation poisoning; he dies in the hospital some time later, and is reunited with Bojana Novakovic's spirit who takes him into the light.
- The Expendables 3 (2014) [Conrad Stonebanks]: Mortally wounded when he is shot multiple times in the chest by Sylvester Stallone with a revolver at the conclusion of their fight. Following some final words to each other, Sylvester then shoots Mel in the chest, killing him.
- Blood Father (2016) [John Link]: Shot to death by Raoul Trujillo in the film's climatic shoot-out, dying with Erin Moriarty by his side.
- Dragged Across Concrete (2018) [Brett Ridgeman]: Shot multiple times in the chest by Tory Kittles after Mel threatens him with a gun. Mel convinces Tory to bury his and Vince Vaughn's bodies to ensure that they were not connected with all of their crimes, as well as convincing Tory to give some of their stolen gold to Mel's wife (Laurie Holden), before dying from his wounds.
- Force of Nature (2020) [Ray Barrett]: Shot numerous times by David Zayas. He dies while talking to Kate Bosworth.
- Boss Level (2021) [Col. Clive Ventor]: Since he is stuck in a time loop, he dies several times only to be revived when the day resets, including instances where he is shot and decapitated by Frank Grillo. He is finally killed for good when he is shot to death by Frank in order to save Naomi Watts.
Television Deaths[]
- The Continental: From the World of John Wick: Night 3: Theatre of Pain (2023) [Cormac O'Connor]: Shot once in the stomach, much to Mel's shook, before being shot once in the head by Mishel Prada, as Mel was ordering Mishel to shoot Colin Woodell. In his final moments, Mel notes that he must have done something to hurt Mishel in the past, which she confirms but does not explain, before shooting and killing Mel.
