- Roots (1977 miniseries) [John Reynolds]: Dies (off-screen) of an unspecified illness; his death is revealed in a conversation between Robert Reed, Madge Sinclair and John Amos. (Thanks to Robert)
- Police Squad!: A Substantial Gift/The Broken Promise (1982) [Special Guest Star]: Stabbed in the stomach (off-screen), then thrown out of a moving car, during the opening credits in a scene that is completely unrelated to the rest of the episode.
- Bonanza: The Next Generation (1988) [Ben Cartwright]: Lorne doesn't appear in this episode, but it's established his character (from the 1959-'73 series) passed away before this event. (Note: Greene was signed-on to reprise, but his real-life death happened before filming).
