  • Fate/stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (2012; anime) [Archer]: Dissipates into magic particles after depleting his magic reserves; he dies while talking to Rin (Mela Lee).
  • Berserk: The Golden Age Arc III - The Advent (2014; anime) [The Torturer]: Impaled through the heart and thrown down a chasm by Guts (Marc Diraison).

Television Deaths[]

  • Gungrave: Betrayal (2004; anime) [Sam]: Impaled in the back by Balladbird Lee (Steven Jay Blum) with his senbon.
  • Bleach: The Older Brother's Wish, the Younger Sister's Wish (2006; anime) [Sora Inoue]: Died in a car crash several years before the events of the story; he comes back as a Hollow and commits suicide by stabbing himself with Ichigo's (Johnny Yong Bosch) Zanpakuto, to stop himself from hurting his sister (Stephanie Sheh).
  • Bleach: Back to Back, a Fight to the Death! (2006; anime) [Soken Ishida]: Killed by Hollows several years before the events of the series as his grandson (Derek Stephen Prince) watches helplessly.
  • Fate/stay Night: End of The Ideal (2007; anime) [Archer]: Killed in battle with Berserker (Michael McConnohie); his body dissipates into magic particles upon his death.
  • Gun X Sword: End of a Dream (2007; anime) [Ray Lundgren]: Shot up by security guards after a vain attempt at assassinating the Claw (Kirk Thornton). After a final meeting with his deceased wife, Shino (Hunter MacKenzie Austin), in a dream sequence, he utters his thanks for Joshua (Yuri Lowenthal) as he dies.
  • Naruto: Showdown: Gaara vs. Kimimaro (2007; anime) [Gaara/Kaguya Clan Member]: Killed (off-screen) alongside the rest of his clan by Kimimaro (Kari Wahlgren).
  • Fate/Zero: Fate/Zero (2013; anime) [Kariya Matou]: Dies as a result of the crest worms implanted in his body by Zouken (Michael Donovan); his body then falls into a pit filled with the worms, where it is devoured.
  • Sailor Moon: Naru's Tears! Nephrite Dies for Love (2014; anime) [Nephrite]: Fatally stabbed by Zoicite's (Lucien Dodge) plant monster while defending Naru (Danielle Judovits); he dies shortly after talking to Naru as his body disappears.
  • Sailor Moon Crystal: Enemy -Queen Metalia- (2016; anime) [Nephrite]: Destroyed by Queen Metalia (Mary Elizabeth McGlynn) with an energy wave. He later returns as a ghost.
  • Star Wars: Rebels: An Inside Man (2016; animated) [Morad Sumar]: Killed in explosion when Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) overrode the controls on a speeder that was sabotaged.
  • Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Decommissioned (2021; animated) [Bolo/Tactical Droid]: The Tactical Droid was originally taken offline when it was sent to the decommissioning facility. It's head is temporarily brought back online by Tech (Dee Bradley Baker), but eventually it is shot by a police droid and destroyed for good. Bolo survives the episode.
  • The Legend of Vox Machina: Into Rimecleft (2023; animated) [Vax'ildan]: Killed by Grog (Travis Willingham) in a dream sequence; he survives the episode in reality.
  • Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Paths Unknown (2024; animated) [Devaronian Captain/Pyke]: The Devaronian Captain falls to his death after the force field he is standing on is shut off by Isa Durand (Anjelica Huston); the Pyke survives the episode.

Video Games Deaths[]

  • Castlevania: Curse of Darkness (2005) [Isaac]: Wounded in battle by Hector (voiced by Crispin Freeman) and used as the vessel to revive Count Dracula (voiced by Douglas Rye). He dies after Dracula exits his body to the abyss.
  • Eternal Sonata (2007) [Count Waltz]: Destroyed, along with Jamieson Price, after Legato shoots a stream of pink fire in his monster form to destroy everything under Waltz's orders.
  • Dragon Age: Origins (2009) [Niall]: Dies as a result of his soul being trapped in the Fade for too long.
  • Dissidia Duodecim: Final Fantasy (2011) [Kain Highwind]: Killed (off-screen) while battling the Manikin army, along with Ali Hillis, Bobby Edner, Hedy Burress, Armando Valdes-Kennedy, and Rachael Leigh Cook in order to allow the other Warriors of Cosmos to survive and enter the next cycle. Their bodies vanish from this plane and return to their own worlds, where they are still alive. As they had been defeated and killed by the Manikins, who are an unauthorised foreign presence to the battlefield, they are permanently erased from the battlefield and constitutes a death in the eyes of the gods.   • Resident Evil 5 (2009) [Reynard Fisher]: Decapitated by the Executioner, as Karen Dyer and Roger Craig Smith watch helplessly from across the street.
  • Red Faction Guerrilla (2009) [Daniel Mason]: Shot and killed by an Earth Defense Force gunship.
  • Darksiders (2010) [War]: Crushed to death by Troy Baker; he is brought back to life by the Charred Council, and then dies again after being impaled with the Armageddon Blade by Moon Bloodgood to complete the Nex Sacramentum; he is then resurrected after Moon breaks the Seventh Seal. A shadow doppelganger of Liam is also decapitated by the real Liam, after having one of it's arms destroyed by him.
  • Final Fantasy XIII-2 (2012) [Caius Ballad]: Commits suicide by stabbing himself in the chest during struggling with Jason Marsden with the latter's sword. However, his death is negated when time stopped as he appeared in the post-credits scene.
  • Asura's Wrath (2012) [Asura]: (1) Falls to the Earth, burning up on re-entry, after being electrocuted by David Pizzuto; (2) Hit with an energy slash by Robin Atkin Downes, after already being injured in a fight with Brad Grusnick; (3) Killed while fighting a Gohma Striker, having already sustained injuries from Imari Williams; (4) Disintegrates after killing Al Rodrigo in the final fight, due to Al being the source of Liam's existence; he comes back to life from the first three Deaths by climbing out of Naraka, but stays dead after the fourth one.
  • Sonic Lost World (2013) [Zazz]: Defeated by Sonic (Roger Craig Smith) with Homing Attacks, and disappears in a puff of smoke. In Wii U version only (survives in 3DS version).
  • Sonic Forces (2017) [Infinite]: Absorbed into Eggman's (Mike Pollock) mech, and blown up along with it by Sonic (Roger Craig Smith), his past self, and the Avatar (designed by the player) with Triple Boost.
