- Never Talk to Strangers (1995) [Henry Taylor]: Shot repeatedly by his daughter (Rebecca De Mornay) (after she’s been taken over by her male hating alternative personality). She then makes it look like Antonio Banderas killed him. His body is later seen again as Rebecca (having no memory of the murder in her main personality) ‘discovers’ him.
- 1408 (2007) [Father]: Dies (off-screen) of an unspecified illness, several years before the story begins; he appears as a ghost to his son (John Cusack) in Room 1408.
TV Deaths[edit | edit source]
- Star Trek: Voyager: Coda (1997) [Admiral Janeway]: Drowns under the polar ice caps of an alien planet several years before the episode begins. An alien life form assumes his form when the daughter (Kate Mulgrew) of the real "Admiral Janeway" is injured and near death in an attempt to lure her into his realm.
- CSI: Law of Gravity (2007) [Frank McCarty]: Shot repeatedly by the mortally wounded Liev Schreiber when Len points his gun at Marg Helgenberger (Len having accidentally shot Liev when aiming at the fleeing Sage Kirkpatrick).
