- Invasion of the Body Snatchers (Sleep no more) (1956) [Dr. Dan 'Danny' Kauffman]: Replaced (off-screen) by an alien pod duplicate. His duplicate is also later killed (along with King Donovan's) when Kevin McCarthy injects them with something lethal.
- The Sand Pebbles (1966) [Jameson]: Shot to death by Chinese nationalists as he approaches them.
TV Deaths[]
- Bonanza: The Hopefuls (1960) [Jacob Darien]: Shot in the back by Charles Maxwell.
- Guiding Light: September 1997 (1997) [H.B. Lewis]: Dies (off-screen) of cancer. (Gates had died the year before, and his character's death was later written the next year.)
