TV Deaths[]

  • North and South, Book II: Episode 1.6 (1986; miniseries) [Augusta Barclay]: Dies in childbirth (off-screen).
  • Amazing Stories: Blue Man Down (1987) [Officer Patty O'Neil]: Shot to death (off-screen) by a criminal, some time before the story begins; she appears to Max Gail throughout the episode, but he doesn't learn until the end that his "partner" has been a ghost all along.
  • Diagnosis: Murder: Murder Murder (1996) [Joan Stratton]: Strangled by hand offscreen by her twin sister, who is also played by McNeil. Her body is later found by Charlie Schlatter and Barry Van Dyke in the twin's garage, making it look like she committed suicide by carbon monoxide inhaling.
  • The X-Files: Theef (2000) [Nan Wieder]: Spontaneously burned to death by radiation when Billy Drago microwaves a poppet of her, while she's having an MRI; her charred body is seen when her husband (James Morrison) pulls it out.
  • Them (2021 series) ["Dr. Moynihan"]: Beaten to death by Deborah Ayorinde as Kate prepares to (presumably) perform an autopsy on another patient.
