- Spy Smasher [Ch. 12, V...-] (1942) [Alan Armstrong / Spy Smasher / Jack Armstrong]: Playing a dual role of twin brothers, Alan is knocked unconscious by Jack who takes his clothing to impersonate him in a rescue of his kidnapped girlfriend Marguerite Chapman. during the attempt "Jack" is pursued by Hans Schumm's thugs to the roof of the building. After being shot several times he falls to the street below where he dies in Marguerite's arms. The brother Alan (aka Spy Smasher) survives the serial.
