RoboCop 2 (1990) [Surgeon General]: Shot in the back by one of Tom Noonan's assassins during a public speaking engagement; this is shown on a TV news broadcast.
Stepfather III (1992) [Father Ernest Thomas Brennan]: Is ambushed by Robert Wightman at night on the road after finding evidence that he might be the killer. John loses control of his car, but isn't hurt. However as John is gathering his thought Wightman smashes his car window and begins to bash his head against his steering wheel until his face is bloody. Wightman finishes John off by setting his car on fire and driving it off a cliff, exploding. Wightman later tells David Tom he learned that John died in a car accident. Wightman, David and Priscilla Barnes are later shown at John's Funeral.

General Hospital: November 2012 [Edward Quartermaine]: Dies (off-screen) in his sleep. (This was made due to John's real-life death)
