John Hollis (1927 - 2005)
Film Deaths[]
- The Dirty Dozen (1967) [German Adjutant]: Killed in an explosion/collapse, along with everybody else inside, when the commandos (finished with Jim Brown tossing down the grenades) blow up their chateau.
- Creatures the World Forgot (1971) [Masked Attacker]: Killed, (I vaguely remember by whom).
- Superman (1978) [4th Elder]: Perishes (along with the rest of that world's population) with the destruction of Krypton, when said planet's sun (Rao) destabilizes and bursts. (John also appeared as a hologram in the 1980 sequel Superman II)
- Flash Gordon (1980) [Klytus Observer No. 2]: Deactivated, along with all the other Klytus Observers, when Timothy Dalton pulls the goggles/eyes off one of their heads.
- Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980): [Lobot]: Possibly executed after being taken away by stormtroopers in a deleted scene. (It's not clear if he could've been executed for switching sides, but he however didn't reappear in the next sequel, Return of the Jedi)
- For Your Eyes Only (1981) [Ernst Stavro Blofeld]: Dropped from a helicopter into a factory chimney by Roger Moore. (The character is never explicitly identified as Blofeld due to legal issues, but the implication is obvious.)
TV Deaths[]
- The Avengers: Warlock (1963) [Markel]: Dies of a seizure after Peter Arne stabs his doll effigy with a pin. (Thanks to Brian)
- The Saint: The Saint Plays With Fire (1963) [West]: Shot by Geoffrey Denton while holding Justine Lord at gunpoint.
- The Avengers: The Superlative Seven (1967) [Kanwitch]: Shot by Donald Sutherland.
- The Saint: The Fast Women (1967) [Maximillian Tordoff]: Shot by John Carson after Roger Moore asks him who he was working for.
