- Midway (The Battle of Midway) (1976) [Rear Admiral Tamon Yamaguchi]: Killed during battle or goes down (off-screen) with the aircraft carrier Hiryū after the US airplanes from the Enterprise bomb the carrier. (While the film doesn't tell us what happens to Rear Admiral Yamaguchi, his fate is a matter of historical record).
- American Ninja (a.k.a. American Fighter) (1985) [Shinyuki]: Stabbed with swords in a battle against ninjas while John is helping Michael Dudikoff.
- Steel Dawn (1987) [Cord]: Stabbed by Christopher Neame

- Freddy's Nightmares: It's My Party and You'll Die If I Want You To (1989) [Harry Lee]: Slashed in the throat by Gwen Banta who is possessed by Robert Englund with a broken champagne bottle.
- Friday the 13th: The Series: Year of the Monkey (1990) [Musashi]: Impaled with a samurai sword by Robert Ito, after John suicidally approaches Robert (while dropping his own sword) in order to make Robert dishonor himself.
