Film Deaths
The Red Badge of Courage (1951) [The Tall Soldier]: Shot in combat, then dies of his wound later on while talking to Audie Murphy.
Abbott and Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1953) [Batley]: Shot in the stomach during a struggle with Craig Stevens.
Shane (1953) [Morgan Ryker]: Shot in the chest by Alan Ladd after John attempts to shoot Alan in the back, then falls over the balcony railing to the ground below.
The Alamo (1960) [Jocko Robertson]: Killed during the final battle. We don't actually seen John die on-screen, although we can see his body amidst the rubble of a destroyed wall as Joan O'Brien is escorted out of the Alamo following the battle, so it's possible that John was killed in an explosion.
The Premature Burial (1962) [Sweeney]: Strangled by Ray Milland when John and Dick Miller dig up Ray's grave; John's body is shown afterwards when Ray brings it to Alan Napier's laboratory.
