  • The Witches (The Devil's Own) (1966) [Dowsett]: Drowned in a lake while trying to flee from supernatural forces; his body is shown again afterwards being carried through the streets on a stretcher.
  • Wuthering Heights (1978) [Mr. Earnshaw]: Presumably dies of natural causes. (I haven't seen this version, but I'm familiar with the story.)
  • Tess (1979) [Mr. Durbeyfield]: Dies (off-screen) of old age/natural causes; his death is confirmed in the scene when his family has to leave their house due to their debts.
