Joan Sims (1930 - 2001)

Film Deaths Edit

  • Carry On Screaming! (1966) [Emily Bung]: Injected with a "petrifying" formula by Kenneth Williams in his laboratory, transforming her into a mannequin. Her body (an obvious dummy) is shown afterwards when her husband (Harry H. Corbett) and Peter Butterworth discover her, and then again (this time actually her) standing on display in Harry's living room. Although she could be brought back to life (as Angela Douglas was revived from her own petrified state), it's clear that Harry has no intention of doing so. (Played for comic effect.)

TV Deaths Edit

  • Agatha Christie's Miss Marple: A Murder Is Announced (1985 mini-series) [Miss Murgatroyd]: Strangled with a cloth by Ursula Howells while Joan is taking her laundry down from the clothesline. Her body is shown again afterwards when Paola Dionisotti and Joan Hickson discover her.
