- Half-Life 2 (2004) [Father Grigori]: Alhough his fate is unclear, he is last seen fighting a mob of headcrab zombies while Gordon Freeman (the player character) escapes into a mine from the undead town of Ravenholm.
- Left 4 Dead 2 (2009) [William 'Bill' Overbeck]: Mauled by Tanks and other infected after restarting a power generator in order to raise a bridge. Any one of the four survivors in game's "The Sacrifice" campaign undergoes this fate however, it is Jim who canonically makes the sacrifice to the generator. His corpse can be found in "The Passing" campaign of Left 4 Dead 2's storyline. He technically dies in the first Left 4 Dead game, although this entry counts because the campaigns from Left 4 Dead 1 were ported to its sequel.
