Film Deaths[]
- The Exorcist (1973) [Father Karras]: Commits suicide by throwing himself out a window in order to kill the demon (Mercedes McCambridge) that had possessed Linda Blair and moved into his own body, effectively sacrificing himself; he dies as William O'Malley attempts to give him his last rites (Note: Although Karras returns in Exorcist III, dialogue from The Gemini Killer makes it clear that Karras did die briefly before he entered Karras' body).
- The Exorcist III (1990)[Patient X]: Shot in the head by George C. Scott as a mercy kill in order to kill Brad Dourif and free Miller's soul from the demon (Colleen Dewhurst). The demon had already been subdued by a revived, but severely injured Nicol Williamson before Miller gets shot. (Note: Since Kinderman kills both Patient X/Karras and The Gemini, both Miller and Dourif should receive credit for the death).
