James D`Arcy (1975 - )
Film Deaths[]
- The Trench (1999) [Pte. Colin Daventry]: Shot twice, in the chest/stomach and neck by German soldiers during the first day of the Battle of the Somme as Paul Nicholls looks on in shock. (We don't actually see him die as the movie ends not long after he got shot. It's likely his wounds were fatal.)
- Revelation (2001) [Jake Martel]: Buried alive when the room is flooded with sand when he sacrifices himself in order to suffocate Udo Kier's cohorts, so a pregnant Natasha Wightman can escape.
- Exorcist: The Beginning (2004) [Father Francis]: Heart torn out by the possessed Izabella Scorupco (having been bludgeoned with a shovel) as he begins an exorcism on Remy Sweeney. His body is later seen when he partially falls out of an opening to a tunnel in front of Stellan Skarsgård and Remy, who then takes his holy robes from his dangling body.
- Rise: Blood Hunter (2007) [Bishop]: Stabbed in the chest with a crossbow bolt by Lucy Liu while Michael Chiklis restrains James.
- W.E. (2011) [King Edward VIII]: Dies (off-screen) of old age/natural causes; we last see him lying on his deathbed talking to Andrea Riseborough. His death is mentioned in the closing text. (James is old age make-up for his final scene.)
- Cloud Atlas (2012) [Rufus Sixsmith/Nurse James/Archivist]: Playing multiple roles in the story's different segments, "Rufus" is shot in the mouth by Hugo Weaving, who then poses the corpse to make it look like a suicide; his body is shown again later on when Halle Berry and Zhou Xun discover him (at this point James was made to look far older than he was at the time). James' other characters survive the movie, though it is highly likely that they die of old age/natural causes over the course of the decades between plotlines.
- Hitchcock (2012) [Anthony Perkins]: Dies (off-screen) of pneumonia-realted AIDs, several years after the movie ends.
- Let's Be Cops (2014) [Mossi]: Shot to death by Rob Riggle while preparing to shoot Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. (there is an alternative scene where James is shot while approaching Damon).
- Jupiter Ascending (2015) [Maximilian Jones]: Shot in the stomach by Russian gangsters when they rob his apartment.
- Life Like (2019) [Julian]: Beaten to death with his own gun by Steven Strait as he was going to shoot Steven as Addison Timlin and Drew Van Acker watch.
