- Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024) [Lars Pinfield]: Presumably, he rapidly freezes to death (along with everyone else in the firehouse), when Ian Whyte uses his powers to prevent the other Ghostbusters from obstructing his path. He is later brought back to life when Kumail Nanjiani uses his pyrokinetic powers to thaw them out. (James is not in the room when Ian attacks the others, but is last seen in the room above being attacked by another ghost - given how widespread Ian's cryokinetic powers are, it's plausible that James also rapidly freezes, so I'll list this just in case.)
