Imelda Staunton in Fingersmith

Imelda Staunton (1956 -)

Film Deaths[]

  • Deadly Advice (1994) [Beth Greenwood]: Killed in a car crash while driving after being drugged by her sister (Jane Horrocks); her body is shown in the wreckage afterwards (with the tractor driver unaware of what's really happened).
  • Fingersmith (2005) [Mrs. Sucksby]: Executed by hanging, after falsely confessing to the murder of Rupert Everett (in order to protect Elaine Cassidy).
  • The Awakening (2011) [Maud Hill]: Commits suicide by poisoning herself, as she also poisons Rebecca Hall so that they die together (Rebecca, however, survives).
  • The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists (The Pirates! Band of Misfits) (2012; animated) [Queen Victoria]: Last seen hanging above a bunch of vengeful carnivores; she is persumbably killed and eaten off-screen (unrelated to how the actual Queen Victoria died.)

Television Deaths[]

  • The Singing Detective (1986) [Nurse White]: Shot in the chest in the crossfire of a shootout between Michael Gambon, Ron Cook and George Rossi in the hospital ward, after she comes in to complain about the noise. (This is a dream/hallucination sequence; she survives the movie in reality.)
  • Tales from the Crypt: About Face (1996) [Sarah]: Strangled by Anthony Andrews.
  • Little Britain (2005) [Mrs. Mead]: Pushed off a cliff by Matt Lucas while she's talking about the changes she's going to make around his house.
