- Voltaire (1933) [Voltaire]: Dies, off-screen of old-age/natural causes; the main story ends before his death but an "epilogue" montage depicts him as a spirit superimposed over scenes of events occurring after his death.
- The House of Rothschild (1933) [Mayer Rothschild/Nathan Rothschild]: Playing a dual role as father and son, the father "Mayer" suffers a heart attack after learning that the courier bringing the money he needed had been robbed; he dies shortly afterwards with his sons gathered at his bedside. (the son "Nathan" survives the movie)
- The Last Gentleman (1934) [Cabot Barr]: Dies of a heart attack from shock after learning that his son (Donald Meek) had been declared insane.
