Director/writer

Film Deaths[]

  • A League of Their Own (1992) [Walter Harvey]: Dies (presumably of old age) between the main body of the film (1940s) and the present-day framing sequence. His memorial photo is shown at the museum.
  • Life After Beth (2014) [Grandpa]: Dies (off-screen) years before the film begins; he comes back as a zombie to visit his family. He is later shot in the head (off screen) by his eldest grandson (Matthew Gray Gubler); his burnt body is seen later on when his younger grandson (Dane DeHaan) finds it. (Played for Comedic Effect)

Television Deaths[]

  • The Dick Van Dyke Show: The Gunslinger (1966) [Bartender]: In Dick Van Dyke's Western-themed dream sequence, Garry is accidentally shot in the chest by Dick during Dick's showdown with Carl Reiner, when Dick forgets to turn around before firing. (Played for comic effect.)
  • Brooklyn Nine-Nine: The Wednesday Incident (2015) [Marvin Miller]: Dies of a heart attack/old age while being interrogated for the bank robberies he committed. He's seen dead when Stephanie Beatriz interrupts the interrogation to talk to Joe Lo Truglio, before informing him that Garry just died, causing him to turn around and see Melissa Fumero awkwardly taking his pulse. (Played for comedic effect)
  • The Odd Couple: Taffy Days (2016) [Walter Madison]: Dies (off-screen) only a memorial photo is shown and his ashes are shown when they get accidentally mixed with taffy in the candy factory. (This episode was filmed after Garry's real-life death).
