Film Deaths[]

  • From Here to Eternity (1953) [Private Angelo Maggio]: Fatally beaten by Ernest Borgnine in the stockade; he dies shortly after escaping and making his way to Montgomery Clift.
  • Suddenly (1954) [John Baron]: Shot in the chest by Sterling Hayden, after first being non-fatally shot by Nancy Gates.
  • The Pride and the Passion (1957) [Miguel]: Shot to death (off-screen) in combat with the French forces; his body is shown afterwards when Cary Grant discovers him, then carries him to the statue of Saint Teresa.
  • The Devil at 4 O'Clock (1961) [Harry]: Killed (along with Spencer Tracy) when the entire island explodes as the volcano reaches its high peak; the evacuees on the boat watch from a distance and sadly lament their deaths.
  • Von Ryan's Express (1965) [Colonel Joseph L. Ryan]: Gunned down by a German officer while Frank is running to catch the train and join his men. (Thanks to Brian)
