Plot Summary[]
A group of four teenage girls (Jodie Foster, Cherie Currie, Marilyn Kagan and Kandice Stroh) come of age in the asphalt desert of Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley arranged with a blazing soundtrack and endless drinking, drugs and sex.

- This film was Cherie Currie’s feature film and acting debut.
- Rosanna Arquette, Diane Lane, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Kristy McNichol all auditioned and/or tested for the role of Annie, but however in the end the role eventually went to the former lead singer of the all girl rock band The Runaways Cherie Currie.
- The film was originally called "20th Century Foxes" but was shortened to "Foxes" to avoid a lawsuit from film studio 20th Century Fox.
- According to Adrian Lyne, a 17-year-old Demi Moore showed up to audition for a role.
- According to a musician hired for the project, the original story concept centered around an all-girl rock band who was being groomed by an established female pop singer. The screenplay was rewritten so much, the band element of the story was dropped.
