Film Deaths[]
- Prefontaine (1997) [Steve Prefontaine]: Crushed to death/suffocated after being pinned underneath his car in an accident.
- The Thin Red Line (1998) [Second Lieutenant Whyte]: Shot to death by Japanese soldiers in combat, as Jared orders his fellow soldiers to move up a hill. As soon as Jared stands up from the long grass to move forward, he is shot and killed, while the other soldiers continue moving uphill.
- American Psycho (2000) [Paul Allen]: Hacked to death with an axe by Christian Bale, while Jared is drunk and distracted by Christian's music. Christian continues hitting Jared with the axe while screaming at him, before disposing of his corpse by wrapping it up in plastic sheets.
- Panic Room (2002) [Junior]: Shot once in the head by Dwight Yoakam as Jared was attempting to quit the job and leave, while Forest Whitaker looks on in shock. Dwight then drags Jared's corpse back inside of the house and proceeds to shoot him a second time in the head, ensuring Jared's death.
- Alexander (2004) [Hephaistion]: Dies of a fever, with Colin Farrell by his side. While Colin goes to a window and describes his predictions for his future victories, he turns back and realises that Jared died while he was speaking. Colin then grieves over Jared, ordering that Jared's doctor be executed for failing to heal him.
- Lord of War (2005) [Vitaly Orlov]: Machine-gunned by a group of soldiers, after Jared blows up their truck, despite the best efforts of his brother (Nicolas Cage) to stop him. While dying from his wounds, Jared tries to pull the pin on another grenade, but is stopped by Nicolas, who then watches Jared die.
- Lonely Hearts (2006) [Ray Fernandez]: Executed. (See also Tony Lo Bianco in The Honeymoon Killers.)
- Mr. Nobody (2009) [Nemo Nobody]: Playing several versions of the same character, Jared has several different death scenes in the story's alternate timelines and possibilities:
- (1) Drowned when his car goes into a lake, after he loses control due to a bird hitting his windshield.
- (2) Shot in the chest by David Schaal while Jared is in the bathtub at a hotel (after Jared had answered to the name of David's actual target); David Schaal and David Kennedy then dump his body in the woods, and his body is shown again in the morgue when Linh Dan Pham identifies him.
- (3) Sucked into the vacuum of space, along with Diane Kruger, when meteorites crash into the space station.
- (4) Dies of old age/natural causes at the age of 118; time then reverses shortly after his death.
- Dallas Buyers Club (2013) [Rayon]: Dies (off screen) from AIDS complications, while he is being treated in the hospital; his death is revealed when Matthew McConaughey visits his hospital room, only to find Bradford Cox packing away Leto's belongings on an empty bed.
- The Little Things (2021) [Albert Sparma]: Bludgeoned over the head with a shovel by Rami Malek. His body is later buried in the desert by Rami and Denzel Washington.
- House of Gucci (2021) [Paolo Gucci]: Dies off-screen in poverty in 1995 from hepatitis. His death is mentioned in the closing title cards.
- Haunted Mansion (2023) [Alistair Crump]: Playing the role of a ghost, his character is already dead long before the film starts, a story told by Danny DeVito recalls how he was decapitated by his servants, with his skull being found by Chase W. Dillon underneath his old mansion. At the end of the film he is trapped deep into the underworld.
