Trivia[]
- Hideaki Anno stated after the film's completion he once again fell into a state of depression, weirdly mirroring what happened to him after the completion of the franchise.
- The post-credits preview for the next film, featuring EVA Unit 8+2 fighting, was created by motion capturing stuntmen rather than traditional animation.
- The first Evangelion film to be presented in 2.35:1 aspect ratio, instead of 16:9 like the previous two films.
- The shortest Rebuild of Evangelion film to date, running for 96 minutes while the first and second runs for 101 minutes and 112 minutes. Ironically, months before the film released in theaters, a false news stated that the film will run for 120 minutes.
- The title doesn't appear until 30 minutes in.
