- Pie Pie Blackbird (1932) [Eubie Blake]: Burned to death (along with Fayard Nicholas,Harold Nicholas, and rest of his band) when the music literally gets too hot; their skeletons continue performing after the fire. (Playing for comic effect.) (This short film is included as a bonus feature in the US DVD of the 1929 film Hallelujah.)
