- Cabin in the Sky (1943) [Petunia Jackson]: Shot in the stomach by John William Sublett when he shoots at Eddie 'Rochester' Anderson and hits her instead. She and Eddie appear as spirits in the afterlife afterwards. The whole thing turns out to be Eddie's dream/vision as he's unconscious from a previous shooting; Ethel and Eddie survive the movie in reality.
