Elizabeth Shepherd in The Tomb of Ligeia

Elizabeth Shepherd (1936 - )

Film Deaths []

  • The Tomb of Ligeia (1964) [Lady Ligeia Fell/Lady Rowena Trevanion]: Playing a dual role, 'Ligeia' dies (off-screen) of an unspecified illness shortly before the movie begins; her body is shown in her coffin (with her face visible through a glass panel) during her funeral, when a post-mortem muscular spasm causes her eyes to open. Her body is shown again later on when 'Rowena' discovers it perfectly preserved in Vincent Price's mansion. Ligeia later appears to return to life and is strangled by Vincent, but afterwards he discovers that the body is Rowena's. After John Westbrook carries Rowena's body out of the mansion, a fire breaks out and traps Vincent inside as he struggles with a cat (possessed by Ligeia's spirit); after Vincent and the cat die, Rowena returns to life outside, and Ligeia's body returned to human form is shown lying beside Vincent's, among the flames.
  • Damien: Omen II (1978) [Joan Hart]: Hit by a truck when she staggers into the road after a crow pecks out her eyes. (Thanks to Robert)
  • Criminal Law (1988) [Dr. Sybil Thiel]: Burned to death by her son (Kevin Bacon). (It's been a long time since I've seen this movie, so I can't recall any more specific details).
